Judgment of the Walter Sisulu University student accused of stealing R800 000 erroneously paid into her student account will only be handed down in December.
Thirty-one-year-old Sibongile Mani was not present at the Regional Commercial Crimes Court in East London on Wednesday as she is writing her final exams.
Mani's defence attorney Asanda Pakade asked Magistrate Twanette Oliver to postpone the matter as his client was busy with exams and will write her final paper on the 10th of December.
Mani, made headlines after an administrative error saw her receive R14-million for food and book allowances.
She was only supposed to receive her monthly R1 400 allocation, which is loaded on an Intellicard to be used for meals.
State Advocate Luthando Makoyi, expressed her disappointment with her absence saying the matter has been dragging for quite a while, however, he understood her challenge and accepted the postponement.
Judgment will now be handed down on 14 December.
