The appeal against the bail ruling of Gqeberha businessman, Arnold Terblanche has been dismissed in the city's High Court.

The 55-year-old, who was not present in court, tried his hand at bail again after it was denied in the Magistrates Court in January.

Arnold is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of his estranged wife, Vicki, whose body was found buried in a shallow grave in Greenbushes in October, last year.

Judge Glen Goosen's judgment says the state has a reasonable likelihood of succeeding and that it must be accepted that Arnold faces a very real prospect of a lengthy sentence.

Terblanche, who intends to plead not guilty, will be back in the Magistrates Court alongside his two co-accused on the 28th of March 2022.
