Safa boss Danny Jordaan said he would respond to allegations of rape levelled against him by former ANC MP and well-known musician, Jennifer Ferguson.
The Sunday Times reported that Jordaan lashed out at their reporter who questioned him about the rape allegations at a SAFA event on Saturday.
Jordaan reportedly told the newspaper that they have been writing what they wanted all along, adding that he would respond.
“Go on and write whatever you want. Times Media has been doing it all along but I will respond,” the Safa boss was quoted as saying.
This is the first comments that Jordaan has made on the matter despite numerous efforts by Algoa FM and other news outlets to obtain comment from him.
This week Ferguson alleged in a facebook post that Jordaan had raped her in a Port Elizabeth hotel about 24 years ago.
She shared the post in response to the global campaign #MeToo, which called on victims of rape to speak out.
Ferguson did not pursue any criminal charges against Jordaan, saying in interviews this week that she was not seeking vengeance.
