The SA Police Service in Port Elizabeth say the preliminary investigation into the murder of Riebeeck College teacher Jayde Panayiotou indicates that she was shot.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the post mortem will be conducted either on Thursday or Friday and will further assist the police with their investigation.
Van Rensburg says police have been working around the clock since Jayde's body was found in an isolated area near KwaNobuhle in Uitenhage on Wednesday morning.
She says media speculation that the perpetrators could be the same as in a recent incident, where a woman was abducted in the parking area of a shopping centre in PE, have not been verified but that a possible link is being investigated.
A CCTV footage image of a man making a cash withdrawal from an ATM in Kwanobuhle is being desribed as a person of interest in the Jayde Panayiotou case and can be found on AlgoaFM's social media pages and website.
