J'Bay woman hijacked in Da Gama Road

Eastern Cape police are still searching for 3 suspects, after a 25-year-old woman was hijacked in a parking area in Jeffrey's Bay on Monday afternoon.

Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the incident happened in Da Gama road, where the suspects, armed with knives, hit the young woman over the head, and forced her into the back of her VW Polo Vivo.

She says the hijackers drove off with the vehicle, and later dropped her off next to the R102 in the direction of Gamtoos.

Swart says the victim reported the incident to police after she was treated at the local hospital.

Members from SAPS Jeffreys Bay recovered the abandoned vehicle in Tecoma Street in Wavecrest on Tuesday afternoon.

Swart says a forensic team was sent to the vehicle to gather evidence.

Police are investigating a case of hijacking, robbery and kidnapping
