Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University says it will be celebrating a 12% overall increase in the number of graduates this year.
NMMU says close on 6000 certificates, diplomas and degrees will be awarded to students during the course of this week at its Port Elizabeth and George campuses.
A total of 84 doctorates and 408 master degrees will also be awarded.
NMMU deputy vice-chancellor, Proffesor Piet Naude, says the growth in the number of graduates is a tribute to the hard work of both students and staff.
