A 48-year-old man is expected to appear in the Zeerust Magistrates' Court on Wednesday for smuggling in illicit cigarettes.
The man was arrested late on Monday night at the Kopfontein Port of Entry.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone says the suspect was entering the country from Zambia via Botswana and his truck, with a Gauteng number plate was stopped and searched.
Police found cigarettes to the value of over R4 million.
According to police, the suspect was arrested before on a similar offence.
On Monday night police also arrested two suspects at the Beitbridge Border Post after cigarettes worth over R6 million were found hidden in a secret compartment of a petrol tanker.
