Port Elizabeth police, supported by Seafisheries officials, have arrested a Chinese national for allegedly operating an illegal fish processing facility.
Police spokesperson, captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says members of the borderline police were also involved in Wednesday's raid on a clothing business in Cawood Street, North End, following a tip-off.
She says police found four deep freezers filled with a variety of seafoods.
Janse Van Rensburg says the 32-year-old suspect faces charges of possessing fish and fish products without the necessary permits as well as a charge of bribery.
She says he allegedly offered R300 to the officials not to arrest him.
