The Eastern Cape Electoral Commission says its all systems go for voter registration this weekend.
Provincial Electoral Officer, Khayakazi Magudumana says there are 4868 voting stations in the province with over 3 million voters registered to vote online.
She says, however, only 14% of young people around ages 18-19 have registered to vote.
"This figure does not look good at all when we compare the number of young people in that age band to the numbers that we have on our voter's roll.
"We have visited more than 350 high schools this year and all those universities to make sure that we try and target the youngsters where they are, but the numbers still look this bad."
Magudumana also said they received threats seeking to disrupt operations this weekend, however, police will be on standby should problems arise.
