A 38-year-old husband and father burnt to death on Tuesday morning when his house in Lovemore Park caught fire.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says at 8 am, Walmer police responded to the scene where they found the wife and her child outside the house.
He says both were found and treated for minor wounds to their heads.
Police discovered that one section of the house was completely destroyed by the fire.
The victim was found in one of the rooms.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is still under investigation.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
