The manhunt continues in the Eastern Cape on Thursday for four dangerous, awaiting trial prisoners who escape from police custody.
The men overpowered and disarmed two policemen who were transporting them from Nqamakwe police station to Wellington prison in Mthatha.
Provincial police spokesperson, captain Ernest Sigobe, says they fled in the police vehicle which was found abandoned near Butterworth.
In a tragic twist a woman died after crashing her car into a pole when the men shot at her as they tried to hijack her car.
The men then hijacked a second vehicle and are still at large.
