Two people have been arrested after the Uitenhage K9 unit confiscated more than 600kg of dagga worth R700 000.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says Warrant-Officer Jaques Adlem, Sergeant Melissa Potgieter and their dog Bowie were patrolling the Addo-Uitenhage road when they spotted a bakkie travelling at high speed on Wednesday night.
The bakkie was swaying heavily and the officers pulled the vehicle off the road.
While the driver was been questioned about his reckless driving, the officers got a strong whiff of dagga from inside the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, police found the weed and arrested two suspects.
