The mother of the five children held captive by their father in Springs for years, says she misses her children terribly, and that her life is hell without them.
According to Beeld, the tearful woman did not want to talk about the emotional and physical abuse she and her children suffered at the hands of her husband.
She may not be named in order to protect the identities of her children, aged between 2 and 16. They are being cared for by other family members.
Her 36-year-old husband appeared in the Springs Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
His case was postponed to the 4th of June and he will remain in custody.
The man is accused of attempted murder, child abuse and obstruction of justice.
