Hopes raised for end to automotive strike


Leaders of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa held a special national executive committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon amid an ongoing strike in the automotive sector,.

Numsa spokesperson, Castro Ngobese says they will issue a statement on Thursday on the outcome of the meeting after employers offered a revised wage offer.

Meanwhile, a march by around 5000 Numsa members in KwaZulu-Natal, scheduled to take place on Thursday has been put on hold.

Workers in the automotive sector have been on strike for three weeks.
