Eastern Cape police are investigating a double murder and house robbery after the bodies of two people were found in the mystical town of Hogsback.
Spokesperson Captain Siphokazi Mawisa says police were called out to a house along the main street in the village at about 9.30 am on Monday morning.
She says the bodies of two people aged 66 and 50 were found with their hands and feet tied up with cable ties.
They also had no visible injuries.
Algoa FM News has since learned that the two victims, a man and a woman, were former lecturers at the Fort Hare University (UFH) who had recently retired.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
Captain Mawisa says the motive for the murders is unknown at this stage.
She says a post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
