Five family members were killed in a car accident on the N2 near Glentana on Sunday night.
Six family members were travelling in their Ford Eco sport when the accident occurred.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Lauriane Botha says the accident happened at 10 pm.
Details of the other car are not yet available but the driver was injured and taken to hospital.
Botha says four adults and a child were found dead on the scene.
A 12-year-old boy was the sole survivor in the Ford.
Family members of the child drove to George from the Cape to assist him in hospital.
The names of the deceased are not yet known, and it is not yet clear if the family was from the Garden Route or visiting from elsewhere.
