A Zimbabwean woman will make her first appearance in the Beaufort-West Magistrates Court on Wednesday after she was found to be in possession of more than 2 kg of cocaine.
Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the 33-year-old woman was allegedly hitchhiking when she was picked up by a truck driver travelling to Cape Town.
The K9 unit from the Karoo pulled the truck over on the N1 near the town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Pojie says they searched her luggage where they found the cocaine with a street value of R830 800.
She was arrested on the spot and will be charged with dealing in drugs.
