Three suspects will appear in the New Brighton Magistrate Court in Gqeberha on Monday for allegedly hijacking a taxi driver who had dropped off a fare in Joe Slovo.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said they were later arrested in Central.
She said the incident happened on Thursday night when three armed men forced the driver out of his vehicle after dropping off a client.
Janse Van Rensburg said the hijacking was reported to the police and on Friday members of Humewood SAPS on patrol spotted the hijacked vehicle in Belmont Terrace.
“All three suspects aged between 20 and 24 were arrested on a charge of vehicle hijacking. The vehicle was confiscated and impounded,” she said.
