Uitenhage police officials acted swiftly on Sunday night, apprehending three alleged hijackers within minutes of a hijacking in Kamesh.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, says a 57 year-old man and two women were sitting in his vehicle in Eagle Drive, Mountain View, Kamesh, at around 11.30 on Sunday night, when they were approached by three unknown men.
One of the suspects took out a bottle neck, threatened the victim and ordered him and the woman out of the vehicle.
Swart says the three suspects jumped into the Toyota Conquest and sped off in the direction of Uitenhage.
Captain Swart say SAPS member patrolling Caledon Street, Uitenhage, spotted the vehicle minutes later and gave chase.
Three men, aged between 19 and 25 were arrested.
They'll appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate's court on Wednesday.
