The man who is charged with the murder and rape of a 17-year-old schoolgirl from Great Brak River admitted in court on Wednesday to killing the schoolgirl.
23-year-old Nathan Mowers was earlier found guilty of the murder and rape of Lesley-Ann Maya.
Throughout his trial in the Mossel Bay Circuit High Court, Mowers denied that he was the one who killed Lesley-Ann in Powertown in April 2015.
In a report handed to court Mowers however told social workers that he had killed Lesley-Ann by strangling her with his right arm.
He was apparently furious because Lesley-Ann had gone to buy drugs for him but did not return with all his money.
Mowers, however, still denied that he raped Lesley-Ann and said they had consensual sex.
Judge ET Steyn said that Mowers' confession still does not make sense since three pairs of shoelaces were found around Lesley-Ann's neck.
She said Mowers still did not play open cards with the court about what exactly happened on the night of Lesley-Ann's death.
The case was postponed to noon on Thursday for sentencing.
