East London police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.
This, after two heavy duty vehicles were set alight at Buffalo City Municipality's Reeston sewerage works on Tuesday night, causing damage said to be more than R7-million.
Police spokesperson, captain Stephen Marais, says an excavator and a large truck were torched.
It's believed the incident is linked to ongoing unhappiness by local residents who are complaining about a lack of job creation at the sewerage works which is currently under construction.
