A task team from the Hawks has taken over the investigation into a cash-in-transit robbery in Mossel Bay on Monday.
Police earlier reported that two armed men robbed security guards who had collected cash from the Mikeva Hyper Cash & Carry at around noon.
The robbery occurred outside the business.
Hawks Western Cape spokesperson, Captain Philani Nkwalase, said they could disclose the amount of money that had been stolen.
"We can confirm that there has been cash-in-transit incident in Mossel Bay. The Hawks are leading a multi-disciplinary team which includes other members of the SAPS," he said.
Nkwalase said no guards were injured during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
