Hawks make second arrest in deadly PE tavern shooting

Elite crime busters, the Hawks, on Friday said a second man allegedly involved in a shooting that left four people dead and another seriously injured has been arrested in Port Elizabeth.

Hawks Spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the deadly shooting incident occurred on Saturday evening.

“The 26-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Helenvale on Thursday morning,” said Mulaudzi.

He said the suspect will appear in the Gelvandale Magistrate’s Court in Port Elizabeth on Monday

The other suspect, Randell Calviet (27), was remanded in custody when he appeared at the same court on Thursday.

Calviet will next appear on 8 February. He was arrested on Tuesday in Stanford Road.

Mulaudzi says he was a passenger in a car.

A 17 year old girl was also critically injured in the shooting.
