Police in Port Elizabeth have arrested two suspects following an armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says according to the complainant behind the counter, three men entered the shop going their separate ways.
She says the one grabbed a 2-litre bottle of cooldrink from the fridge while his accomplice went to the back of the store.
Naidu says a third man then pulled out a firearm and demanded cash.
She says the men also stole cigarettes and toiletries before running out of the shop.
A man in a Mazda was waiting for them outside.
Naidu says the men were in such a hurry that they left one of their friends behind, who was arrested by police.
A chase ensued with the getaway vehicle which eventually stopped.
Two suspects ran away and a third was arrested in the vehicle.
Police also confiscated the stolen goods inside the car.
The suspects aged 30 and 31 will appear in court soon.
