Hartenbos child abuse case draws to a close

The case of a father from Hartenbos who is accused of abusing his 4-month old son severely was postponted after the last witness took to the witness stand on Friday.

Brigadier Gerhard Labuschagne, chief of the police's psychological investigation unit, testified for the state.

He rejected the findings of the defence psychologist who said the accused was temporarily insane during the assault on his baby son.

Labuschagne said the findings were inappropriate.

He was the last witness in the witness stand and Magistrate Daniel Boks postponed the case until 11 November for written arguments.
