The case against a 32-year-old man arrested for the attack on a woman in her farmhouse near Hankey has been postponed to the 10th of May for further investigation and for a formal bail application.
The suspect appeared briefly in the Hankey Magistrate's court on Monday in connection with last month's attack on the 44-year-old woman on her farm outside the town.
The suspect faces s string of charges including attempted murder, abduction, rape and robbery.
The woman was shot in the side during the attack and was forced to drive the suspect to an ATM in Hankey.
She managed to escape while he was withdrawing money with her bank card.
The suspect was arrested several days later at the Lesotho border with a number of stolen items from the family farm in his possession.
