Port Elizabeth police say a burst flourescent light bulb led to the fire in House and Home
in the Greenacres Shopping Centre last week.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer, Alwin Labans, says the police probe into the fire has been completed.
He says a specialist police dog and two independent investigators assisted in the probe.
Labans says no foul play is suspected because the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
Meanwhile, Greenacres centre management says all the shops that were closed as a result of the fire will likely resume trading in three to six weeks time.
Centre manager, Brent Starr, says Checkers and House and Home, will remain closed for much longer.
He says the priority is to ensure that the building is made safe as per health and safety regulations as well as to restore electricity and ventilation services to the area.
