The Graaff Reinet Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is investigating the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in Kroonvale on Friday.
Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson says it is alleged that the victim was returning from her older sister and while she was walking past a high school, she was approached by four men.
He says one of them threatened her with a sharp object, while the others raped her.
The teenager managed to escape and reported the incident to her mother.
She was later taken to hospital where the rape was confirmed.
