Five suspects are expected to appear in court soon after they were arrested for the alleged armed robbery of a local Graaff-Reinet businessman on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, says the victim arrived at the bank when he was approached by five armed men in Church Street before 1 pm on Monday.
He was robbed at gunpoint of a substantial amount of money.
But, Rawlinson says the swift response of police led them to a house in 7 de laan, where the men aged between 27 and 61 were arrested.
He says the money was recovered.
