Gqeberha police investigate family tragedy.

File

Police in Gqeberha are investigating the death of a couple after their bodies were found in their home in Sydenham on Monday.

Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said they were found on Monday afternoon.

She said residents in the house became suspicious after the couple “failed to wake up all day”.

Naidu said the grandmother of one of the deceased opened the door with a duplicate key and found the bodies of 49-year-old Nolitha Dyosi, and her 51-year-old husband, Thansanqa.

They had both sustained gunshot wounds.

“Nolitha had two gunshot wounds to the chest and stomach, and Thansanqa had a gunshot wound to the face.  The firearm, a 9mm Norinco belonging to the deceased, was found in the room,” Naidu said.

A case of murder and an inquest are now under investigation.
