Kabega Park police detectives are on the hunt for four suspects involved in a house robbery in Sherwood in Gqeberha on Thursday evening.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the home invasion took place just before 7 pm when the 50-year-old complainant arrived home with her 83-year-old mother.
They were accosted as they entered the house and the 53-year-old husband, who was busy assisting his mother in law, scuffled with the suspects who were armed with a knife and a firearm.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says he was stabbed in the right shoulder in the ensuing scuffle.
The suspects then tied them all up and demanded money before fleeing with a laptop, cellphones, PS4 play station, jewellery and other goods.
The injured husband was later taken to hospital for treatment.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the suspects are unknown at this stage and police are investigating a case of house robbery.
