Gqeberha police said a 40-year-old was arrested after being found in possession of prescription medicine.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the man was arrested in Parsons Hill on Wednesday for being in the possession of 1000 Stilpane and 30 bottles of Purata tablets.
She said alert members of SAPS Mount Road stopped the vehicle and the medication was found in boxes in the man’s car
“A follow-up investigation was done and it was established that the driver purchased the tablets from a supplier in his employer’s name without the doctor’s knowledge. The estimated street value of the Schedule 5 tablets is R35 000,” Naidu said.
She said the man was due to appear in court for contravening the Medicines Control Act.
