A Gqeberha dog owner whose five Pitbulls attacked three people in Sherwood last week has been served with a notice instructing him to euthanize the animals.

Mamela Ndamase of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says a follow-up investigation will be done at his property within five working days to see if he has complied.

She says if not, the Municipality's Animal Unit will "make contact with SAPS".

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, meanwhile confirmed that three complainants came forward resulting in two charges being laid.

A young Nelson Mandela Bay father, Luke Hardwich is recovering at home following his harrowing ordeal last week where he nearly lost his right leg after he was mauled by the five animals.

The Hardwich family has since obtained legal advice.

The dogs attacked two other people who were also in the vicinity of a complex in Montrose Road.
