The SA Weather Service in Port Elizabeth says good rainfall was measured over Nelson Mandela Bay's catchment area at the weekend.
Spokesperson Garth Sampson says tempertures also plummeted to below zero over much of the interior.
He says the lowest temperature measured on Sunday morning was at Buffelsfontein, where the mercury dropped to - 17.5.
Barkley East measured - 10. Jamestown - 9.3, Komani - 5.8, Graaf Reinet - 5.6, Craddock - 3.1, Uitenhage - 0.8 and Port Elizabeth 3.1 degrees Celcius.
Sampson says PE measured 33 mm of rain, East London only 1 mm and George 5 mm.
He says in NMB's catchment area, 35 mm fell at Kareedouw, 27 mm in Joubertina and 33 mm at Patensie.
