The country's mohair market strengthened at Tuesday's sale.
Mohair SA says the market indicator gained 5% to close the day on R199.87 per kilogram.
This, after close on 100% of the 123 251 bales on offer was sold.
Mohair SA says the offering consisted of some good quality mohair, with buyers competing actively for the better qualities on offer and to ensure their stock towards the end of the season.
Good demand from the East for the stronger sector of the clip resulted in prices surging further upwards.
A highest price of R340.10 was paid for a bale of 27 micron super style kid mohair.
Compared to the previous sale, prices were as follow:
Kids (winter) Up 4%
Young Goats (winter) Up 5%
Fine Adults Up 7%
Strong Adults Up 4%
Average Up 5%
The sixth winter sale will take place on 17 November 2015.
