The Garden Route District Municipality says the death toll at the site of the building collapse in Victoria Street continues to rise.
Spokesperson Chantel Edwards says 32 people are deceased with 20 still unaccounted for.
She says of the 32 deceased, six are women.
Meanwhile, the Forensic Pathology Services, who are in the process of fast-tracking the process of identification, has managed to positively identity six of the deceased.
Edwards says fingerprints, DNA testing and photographs of unique markings such as tattoos and clothing items are some methods used to identify the deceased.
She says workers have been on site for 187 hours and the operation continues.
Twelve people are still in hospital.
The building at 75 Victoria Street collapsed on the 6th of May at 14.09 where an estimated 81 people were on site.
