George police are investigating the murder of a senior member of the Uncedo taxi organisation who was gunned down outside his Thembalethu home on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said the shooting occurred at 20:45 in Zone 6.
He said two men opened fire on the 60-year-old man and a family member while they were outside their house.
The elderly man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the scene.
Spies said the family member managed to run into the house, but not before he was shot in the leg.
He said the suspects fled the scene and are still at large.
The motive for the murder is not yet known, and a murder docket has been opened for investigation.
The deceased's name has not yet been released and the shooting comes barely 24 hours after a Go George bus was petrol-bombed also on Wednesday.
Several passengers were taken to hospital for treatment for burn wounds and shock.
