Municipal services in George are severely impacted at the moment due to staff members testing positive for Covid-19.
The George municipality says in a statement that its lost two officials to Covid-19 in the past week.
Nine George Municipal officials have died since the outbreak of the virus in March 2020.
Municipal spokesperson Chantel Edward-Klose says 36 officials are currently Covid-19 active and a further 30 are in quarantine.
She says while all municipal services continue to be rendered, in some directorates, services may be slower than usual due to less staff.
