A George father accused of severely assaulting a man who robbed his teenage son will remain in custody.
The 31-year-old man from Pacaltsdorp and a friend appeared in court on Friday on a charge of murder.
Their court appearance is a sequel to an incident this week in which a 14-year-old schoolboy was stabbed and robbed of his computer tablet while walking to school on Tuesday.
The boy's family reportedly declined to press charges related to the robbery.
The robbery suspect, Winston Jacobs, was later found severely assaulted. He died later in hospital.
The boy's father and his co-accused will be back in court again on 1 June.
