George police have re-arrested a man who escaped from the Conville police station in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, said 32 year old Edwin Jacobs was found at his home in Borchards this morning.
He was arrested on Monday on a charge of attempted murder following an incident over the weekend when he allegedly fired a shot and assaulted a 24 year old man.
Steyn says he will appear in court on Friday, facing an additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.
She says an internal investigation is also underway into the circumstances surrounding Jacobs' escape.
Another awaiting trial prisoner who escaped with him was re-arrested yesterday morning.
