Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has announced that East London and George Airports will be able to resume operations.
The two, along with Kimberley Airport, were omitted from an earlier announcement from the government allowing domestic travel to resume.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Mbalula said that the three airports would resume operations from the 21st of July but with strict conditions in place.

Businesses in George and the Greater Knysna region are heavily dependent on business travellers having access via the George airport. The average number of passengers through the George Airport prior to the Covid-19 lockdown was around 55 000 passengers per month, of which approximately 40% were business travellers
