Police in Graaff-Reinet have arrested two people in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found last month along the N9 outside town.
Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson says the 59-year-old Annete Jooste van Eeden was in the mortuary for over a week while police struggled to identify her.
She was eventually identified via her fingerprints with a last known address showing Vereeniging.
Rawlinson says on Sunday they arrested a 48-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, also from Vereeniging.
Rawlinson earlier told Algoa FM news that several anonymous calls were made to police to alert them about van Eeden's body.
He says at the moment the suspects cannot be linked to the family of the deceased.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrates Court on Monday.
