Two suspects from Vereeniging in the Vaal Triangle made a second appearance in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrates court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Anette Jooste.
The 59-year-old Jooste's body was found last month along the N9 outside town.
Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson says the 48-year-old Chené Chantell Verwey and the 28-year-old Mandla Khumalo abandoned their bid for bail.
The case was remanded to the 2nd of September.
Jooste's murder was the "talk of the town" in June when police struggled for over a week to identify her body.
Rawlinson says she was eventually identified via her fingerprints.
Jooste's last address was given as Vereeniging.
