A suspect is currently in police custody in Mossel Bay after teen, Jamie-Lee Julius, was raped and strangled to death on a farm near Great Brak River on Saturday.
The 16-year-old victim's body was discovered by her 20-year-old sister behind a water tank on the farm.
The victim, who is originally from Oudtshoorn, was spending time with her parents' friends and has been living with them since last year November.
The teenager, who was not attending school, attended a party on the farm on Saturday.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Laurianne Botha says the suspect in custody is believed to have also attended the same party.
He will appear in the local Magistrates Court soon on charges of rape and murder.
