The Garden Route Dam in George recorded 80mm of rain over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the Municipality Chantel Edwards Klose says the rain, however, led to localised flooding and several residents had to be evacuated from surrounding informal settlements.
She says 107 people consisting of 62 adults and 43 children are currently being housed in community halls and centres across George.
Edwards Klose says their Disaster Calle Centre was inundated with calls throughout the weekend.
She says the majority of complaints from residents were related to stormwater issues, electrical faults whilst two people lost the roof of their homes and five serious accidents were reported.
