Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a pedestrian was killed in a freak accident at Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial Traffic Department spokesperson Unathi Bhinqose says an articulated truck lost control in the CBD on Thursday and rammed into a stationary truck.
He says the truck was dragged for several meters before slamming into a bakkie and a sedan.
The accident, which was captured on a CCTV camera, showed people running for their lives.
Bhinqose says one pedestrian was crushed to death on the scene.
Both truck drivers sustained minor injuries while a passenger in the bakkie was seriously injured.
