A fourth truck has been torched as irate residents continue to take to the streets in a service delivery protest in the N2 vicinity of the Markman Industrial area near Motherwell in Port Elizabeth.
Police Captain, Andre Beetge, says the situation remains volatile, but no arrests have been made.
Beetge says additional police members have however been deployed to stabilize the situation, but the Addo road remains closed at this point.
Earlier, protestors shut down all access points from the township leaving commuters stranded, with no taxis or buses operating.
Protests began late on Thursday when two trucks were set alight.
