Four women killed in accident on N2 near Idutywa, EC

Four people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a vehicle overturned on the N2 near Idutywa on Saturday afternoon.

Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says the driver of a Toyota Verso with two men and four women, believed to be church members, overturned.

He says the four women died at the scene, while the driver and one passenger were rushed to Butterworth hospital.

Binqose says its alleged that the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
