Four men have been killed over the outcome of a stick-fighting game in Bojini village, Willowvale, in the Eastern Cape.
Police captain Jackson Manatha says 43 year-old Zola Vova won a game of ikhaba or stick-fighting with a 21-year-old at the weekend.
The younger man drew a knife and stabbed Vova, who died on the scene.
Manatha says youths from Vova's location went to call for back-up.
The returned later and attacked everyone at the homestead, killing three people.
Police arrested the 21-year-old and five youths aged 16 and 17 and recovered four pangas used in the killings.
The six will appear in the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
