Police are hunting for the assailants who gunned down four young men in a house in Vaaldam in Humansdorp on Thursday night.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the bodies of the deceased, aged between 20 and 25, were found on Friday morning in a house in Mphondo Street.
She said the neighbour alerted the owner of the house, who is also the mother of one of the deceased, that the backdoor of the house was broken down.
"The bodies of the four males were found with bullet wounds to the head.
It is suspected that the incident is gang-related and suspects are unknown at this stage," Naidu said.
She said the names of the victims will be released after a formal identification.
Naidu said police are investigating four counts of murder, and are appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing the suspects to contact SAPS Humansdorp, D/W/O Zuan Nepgen on 081 234 7783 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major-General Zithulele Dladla condemned the attack and urged members of the community to come forward with information and work with police in ensuring the safety of the citizens.
